Who settles? What kind of person settles? Do you settle?
Be honest. Chances are that any area in your life that you are unhappy with, is an area where you have settled for less than what you believe you deserve. Or perhaps you may have settled for believing that you deserve less than what you do deserve.
That’s right, you get to choose what and how much you deserve in this life. And you definitely get to choose what you believe about what you deserve. Take a look at your beliefs. What do you settle for right now? In what area of your life do you deserve more? And why do you deserve more? Is it a right that you have as a human being, or have you done something to deserve it? Here’s a neat thought: We are all created equal, right? So then, we all deserve the same as everyone else, right?
So, Happiness? You deserve it. Love? You deserve it. Peace, and Joy, and Health, and Abundance? You deserve it.
Now that we’ve taken care of those limiting beliefs, by replacing them with beneficial beliefs, let’s take a look at why people don’t have what they deserve: It’s because people settle for less than they deserve.
Do you see a vicious cycle here? People don’t have, because they believe they don’t deserve to have, so they set up their lives in such a way as to keep them from getting the things that they don’t think they deserve to have.
First change your beliefs about what you deserve, and then stop settling for anything less than you deserve.
Want relationships that are drama free? Stop settling for those relationships. Be better than that. Persist until you find the relationships that you deserve.
Want more money in your bank account? Stop settling for the circumstances that keep you in your present condition.
Do you want to be healthy and vibrant and full of energy? Stop settling for feeling like a run down, overweight, flesh eater.
See the pattern emerging? In order to stop settling and achieve the results you want and deserve, a LifeStyle Change is required. If you want to be healthy, than going on a diet will never work. You have to live a healthy lifestyle. If you want abundance, you must live an abundant lifestyle. If you want loving relationships, you must live a loving lifestyle.
You can’t grow good fruit from a bad tree. You have to have a good tree to grow good fruit. The fruit comes from the tree, so if you don’t like the fruit of your life, heal the tree, don’t try to heal the fruit.
Stop settling for bad fruit.

I can claim none of what follows as my own, and I am indeed still learning to put into practice the things listed below. The following comes from Steve Pavlina as his Twitter posts, and I think they are brilliant and should be shared with all:
Do what you love -> get good at it -> share your talent to create value for others -> receive value in return -> do more of what you love.
Since many people are worried about the economy, there’s greater demand and more opportunities for people who aren’t worried.
If you have trouble discovering what you love, start by dropping from your life that which you don’t love. Purge the wrong answers first.
If you love doing X, then do X. Don’t do things you dislike because you think it will give you the chance to do X. Just do X. No excuses.
If you love helping people heal, you can start doing that today… long before you graduate from med school. Again, dump the excuses.
If you want to be a rocket scientist, take the time to learn the skills you need. Meanwhile, go build & launch some model rockets this week.
Pretend you died yesterday and lost all. Then live this day as the first day of your afterlife. Harder to make excuses when you’re dead.
If you turn toward what you love, you’ll be staring directly into your greatest fear. Don’t look away. Take a bold, brave step forward.
Doing what you love is challenging. Doing what you don’t love is pointless.

The Christ told us that our bodies were a Living Temple, a place wherein God could reside. Let’s use this as an example for our goals in this life.
1. Are our goals living or dead?
Consider what you want in life, is the end goal worth having? Is it alive, will it bring vibrancy and light to your life? What good is it to have everything you ever wanted, only to find out that the price you paid to get there was too great? If you’re not happy on the path to your Happiness, then you’re probably on the wrong path. Make sure what you want is indeed, what you want.
2. What is our Blueprint?
As any builder can tell you, if you don’t know what the building is supposed to look like, then you can’t build it. Who or what are you modeling your goals after?
This is not the place to be cheap or modest… Shoot for the moon here. Find the best at what you want and devour everything you can find about them and what they did to achieve the thing you want. An example… if you want to be successful in real estate, don’t model yourself after the agent from Century 21, model yourself after Donald Trump… if you want to play in the NBA, don’t model yourself after your high school coach, model yourself after Michael Jordan.
Don’t mistake what I’m saying though, you can still learn a lot from the high school coach and the local real estate agent, in fact, that’s a great place to start, but what I’m saying is pick a Blueprint of Perfection for whatever goal you may have.
3. How is a Temple built?
Here’s where most people fall away… It’s built one stone at a time. You create your body one cheeseburger or one vegetable at a time… you wanna know why people are dying all around you? Because they eat flesh that is dead… and as we all learned as children, you are what you eat, and one dead stone after another, they have created a temple of death around them.
In the same way, you create your goal one step or mini-goal at a time. You’re not going to become a millionaire, or an enlightened being, or an amazing lover and spouse and parent overnight. Some people are able to work faster than others. It depends on where you are when you begin. Some have more natural resources than you might… which is why there’s no time like right now to begin.

Perhaps you’re familiar with the Taoist saying that “soft is stronger than hard”…
To recognize the truth of the saying we need only look to nature. Water will outlast rock, the blade of grass will bend in the strong wind whereas the stiff tree will fall down.
What is it that stuntmen and bikers say to do when crashing? Go limp and completely relax. In other words, be soft.
It is the things with the most rigid, un-giving structures that break easiest, such as glass.
Where are you hard in your life?
Have you ever noticed that laid back person who it seems that everything in life just comes to him? Do you find yourself being a little too rigid sometimes, even for your own liking?
Instead of trying to be the rock in your life, try to be the water. Flow. It’s a valuable skill to possess and one which will help you in all areas of your life.
